Larry Dunn, member of the faculty of the School of Humanities, Religion and Social Science, Director of Undergraduate Programs for the Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies.
I have worked for more than 20 years as a mediator, trainer, consultant and educator in the field of conflict resolution. I am currently professor in the School of Humanities, Religion and Social Sciences and a member of the faculty at the Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies at Fresno Pacific University. I hold a Masters degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and a PhD in Social Science from Syracuse University, where he was affiliated with the Program on the Analysis and Resolution of Conflicts. From 1997-99 I served with the Mennonite Central Committee in Labrador (Canada) as a cross-cultural conflict consultant working with Aboriginal communities and First Nations on community justice, self-government and land rights issues. I have mediated and consulted on a wide variety of cases involving neighbors, families, schools, churches, businesses, communities and government agencies. I have also published articles and chapters on topics ranging from church disputes to international mediation and ethnic conflict in the Balkans. My present research and writing interests include identity-based and cross-cultural conflict, historical peacemakers (Gandhi, King, Tolstoy, et al), and difficult conflict issues in the church, such as homosexuality. I am married and have three boys, ages sixteen, thirteen, and eleven.
